i removed my GT badge, because it leaves a mystery.....Ohh what does this guy have a GS? or the other day this guy had a focus SVT and he wouldn't race me becuase my car said V6 on the side.

 

oh and i do have small eibach stickers in my small windows

 

funny, because an SVT Focus isn't really much slower than an EGT.



Anyway, I took off the GT emblem in the back, the V6 emblems on the sides and the emblem on the front bumper, and no longer have the indentation in the front bumper either. I thought it gave the car a much cleaner look, especially the front emblem. The black makes a difference too I suppose

 

Yes the V6 Badges need to go! They are very ugly and interrupt the lines way to much!

i took the badge off the back to make the rear seem more even and centered. The badge left the whole left side empty and blank, now i just have the mitsu symbol.

thanks man. I just used dental floss to remove the badges themselves, bug&tar remover to get rid of leftover adhesive, and lots of wax

 

i think alot of people remove the rs / gs
because people think the lower trim levels suck?
i removed my gt and v6 cause i wanted a cleaner look.
i replaced my red mitsu diamonds with chrome too.
also, if i ever get my GT to be fast, it'll be a sleeper!

2) If I loose, the last thing I want the other guy thinking is "Awesome, my 4 cylider 1.8L just beat a V6!"

Since most poeple without Eclipses dont know the subtle differences between lower and upper trim levels.

 

i plan on removing my GS and Spyder trim and airbrushing them on...or atleast the sypder. Granted, you should have a clue that it is a spyder if you know anything about the eclipse line, but it also gets big points w/ judges @ shows....and since i like to show my car and such and 2nd sucks, i like to impress the judges

 

My body shop removed mine and I have had absolutely no reason to put them back on.

I was going to have it glassed in, but instead bought an aftermarket front bumper--because it is not an OEM Mitsubishi product, they can't have any Mitsubishi logos--including the indentation. That was easier and cheaper than glassing the oem bumper

 

I thought the V6 ones looked funny, so I took them off. I liked the GT on back, but - since I was already at it, it went too. I later super glued it just above the glovebox, where I think it actually looks great (no glue runs or anything either if you were wondering).

that statement alone, should be reward enough -- that he chose NOT to race because you had a V6!

 

I took all of mine off because they just looked bad on black, less "clean" if you will. :dunno: When I used to look at the car my eyes would stop on those decals and I felt that they took away from the car itself. Besides, they were ugly. :lol:

 

I have to agree that the car does look better, and it lowers the drag co. by .00001. That means that I will get a faster 1320 time See pic or click here for the rest of the pics of my car.

honestly the only thing I've ever considered taking off was the V6 emblems...I haven't yet and I don't know if I will or not. But it's for the same reasons some others have said - someone not familiar with the Eclipse line might not know I've actually got a V6 unless that's on there. Although I'd hope they could tell from the sound of the car it's not a 4 cylinder...

Wow, its kinda weird to see a comment i made a year ago.

 

I dont really know why I did.. Maybe I had nothing better to do at at the time... Guess I had no more for new mods at the time... Just wanted to do something on the car..

Making it blend in? Maybe... But then I added this "tower need clearence to land" wing on my car so removing the GT in the scope of things really didnt do much for keeping other drivers wondering what I had under the hood at the red lights...

Def a mute point now as they hear the car a block before I get to said light...

Guess Its just something to do thats cheap......

Yes, most non-3G owners dont know the subtle differences in the trim levels. The main clue would be the side skirts for the GT. But also, yes, the front emblem does have that indentation left over and the rear will have 2-3 tiny holes left also. Unless you were to fill the rear holes in, dont see the purpose in debadging the emblems. I can see debading the V6 on the sides though.

I havent debadged mine, but did change the front/rear red emblems with chrome ones. Technically mine could be mistaken now for a '02 (I think) when they changed from red to chrome emblems. But that wasnt my reason. The red faded a bit and chrome just adds a little bit more to it, IMO. lol
