I'm bored, GF is outta town so I'm on Club3g tonight....So i figured you guys can have a laugh at my story....
Bought my car almost a year ago and we have put together quite a history together.....
It's a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
bought for $3,800
originally had 94,000 miles....now i got 97,000
the car had horribly warped rotors and a stuck caliper and had to get that fixed ASAP
Image

What a hell of 3,000 miles this car has seen!

I'll admit i'm a teenager and drive it .....well pretty bad, but not too bad. I'm the kind of guy who'll drive 45-50 CRUISING ...
First few months driving i thought i was HOT SH|T.....bad thing
Was driving fast and couldn't catch my brakes....so i hit a curb
Image

Took a good 5inches maybe off the curb
Image

Not too bad

Reusable?:lmfao:

That was soo much fun than it was scary (EMPTY-ish road w/ turn), my friend was with me in the car when we accidently hit the curb....he never drove with me again....LOL
The car has given me transmission troubles from the start on top of the damage, it skips, hesitates, jolts, but overall runs good....i've fixed a lot of blown mounts on the car that were causing most of the jolts, here they are:

They fell out like that... after i repaired those mounts the jolts went away but the trans hesitation continued
Image

The car has overall been good to me, i can't complain. Turns on every morning, drives okay.Rain/SNOW/Shine
The ride quality sucks (feels like i'm dragging my a$$ over bumps in the road, on smooth road no prob). One thing i hate is its FWD, turning sucks, no fun, just...no, ever since i drove a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab for a week when i was repairing mounts i fell in love with the RWD:drool:

My car gets me around, its called by others....the RED RICE ROCKET, SPEED RACER, THE P.O.S <---- that's mine lol

I can't complain though, it gets me around, i snuck out of the house to see my gf numerous times in this car:wub:, ever since the accident its been very well treated, i love it, i hate it

Love:
  • The look of the car
  • the momories lol
Hate:
  • The sound
  • FWD
  • SLOW!
Ask me questions about my experiences, about the car, i've learned a lot with this car, i still keep my lead foot but now i'm safe with it and now with the gf in the car A LOT MORE CAREFUL , i'm thinking of trading her in soon with the new job and all but....
Here's my p.o.s, 97k miles running stronger than what i got it.....and BONE STOCK

I have a lot more pics, maybe tomorrow, maybe a video.....:ndance:

And yes, the car has went through a lot of abuse, my first couple of months, the winter, but it has went through all of that and no major issues, execpt the trans hesitation, which i discovered here on Club3g that it is a common valvebody problem with Auto's

I don't know. I thought the original direction of this thread was full of win :dunno::lol:

Looks good though now. We're all young and dumb once, and probably still are from time to time. Keep it clean.

 this thread is just for humor because my ride is such a joke, at least i don't get angry when somebody rips on my car, i go along with it because i can't deny it....and yes keeping it all stock and clean....well it needs a wash, it's a month overdue

As for the oil cap, in that picture it is upside down huh

i'll give you guys a walk around video sometime this weekend, been having trouble with work lately

EDIT: as for the poll i just wanted to post that, no reason was just bored

For now was a great thing to say.... never got to the video because i had major problems with the Eclipse the next day after my last post..... bottom line the Eclipse is back on jacks again and i'm tired of the expenses so i'm getting rid of the car and i picked up a new ride for $2,500...

with that i say goodbye Club3g, i enjoyed a lot of the help i received from the forum and thank you all :wavey:

2000 Ford Mustang V6, for $2,500 it's a great deal.
Motor is sound, trans is smooth
The body has some rust, axle wines a bit, tires got no tread but it starts up all the time, only problem so far is a bad gas cap.....oh and it was lady driven, but in the Chicago salty streets....which explains the rust on the wheel wells

Honestly you would have been better off with the eclipse.
