Wheel Decision

I've changed the contents of my original post to help me better gauge the opinions of Club3G on what wheels to get. The notion of whether to get 18's or 19's is still lingering, but let it linger. The only way I can decide is if I get your opinions. So I am asking you to pick between these 3 wheels. Here is some info about my car so you can picture these wheels with what I have. Black Grillcraft, Black on Black DEPO's, Blacked out Front and Rear Corners, Blacked out 3rd Brake Light, Black TYC Tails, all on a Silver 3G. I am looking to get a 2 inch Intrax drop before I put my chosen set of wheels on as well. Also, performance does not matter to me with this car, I'm just trying to make it look good, that is why I am actually considering 19's. Let the war of the wheels begin!

18" x 7.5" Motegi DP6 Gunmetal

Weight: 22.5 lbs/wheel

19" X 8.5" XIX X05 Gloss Black

I like all 3 of these wheels, but I want your opinion on what would look the best on my car. Thanks to everyone for their help so far.

19's are the new 18's.. and 18's are the new 17's.. and 17's? well theyre just a thing of the past. even performance cars these days come with 20's.

that said, if/when i get new wheels for my car.. they will be 19's.

Plus it depends on the design of the wheel, the length of the spokes, etc. I've seen some 18's that look like 19's, but I'm just trying to figure out these particular wheels that I posted.

IMO, 18's are just right for the street. Remember, that with 19's you are going to have to run some very low profile tires, and wont have as much sidewall protection as you would with 18's.

For those particular wheels; I honestly can barely tell the difference. I've seen those on a member's car in 18's when he still had them. They looked good.

Ive seen them on all kinds of cars. I personally think they are way over played but if you like them go for it. You'll have to consider ehat GSKNIGHT said though and look at the roads around where you live, are they good enough for 35 series tires? Cause thats what youll be running with 19's. If you do go with 19's, get a ~38mm offset in a 7.5" wide wheel with 235 wide tires. Thay will fit and give you max protection for the wheel.

Yeah I know a ton of cars have them, but I can't find any other wheel I like. If Motegi sold their DP6 in Gloss Black I would jump on them, but the darkest they have is Gunmetal and I really want black. Also, I've found a ton of black wheels with polished lip that I like, but they all have the chrome/polished buttons on the lip and I do not like that at all. Like Mark's, clean, but not what I'm looking for.

Imo if your not going to put a body kit on stick with 18's but if you do get a body kit 19's do look pretty good on them. You will definetly feel the bumps though with 19's, unless you live in an area that is pretty smooth.
Yeah I'm not sure, I keep changing my mind. The 18's look good in some pics, but small in other pics. I would just hate to get 18's and have them be too small for my tastes and wishing I had gotten 19's. Here is another pic of them in 18 inch, they look too small for me in this pic.

If you want to et 18's and like the 19's look don't get wheels with huge sidewall lips and try getting the flattest spokes possible and less spokes since they will look smaller. Also the color makes a wheel look smaller.
I had 17" ADR's that looked like 16" cause of the lip.

I agree on the 18's with Less of a lip. They will look bigger. However..... its ALOT of wheels out now that look alot better than the ones your refuring to. I think you should keep looking and not settle just yet on those. IMO those look cheap.

I agree with Brandy, those wheels are cheap and they are on every riced out car in america. They are the new motegi mr-7's. But i mean if that is what you want, then who are we to say what we think. I personally, would go with a different wheel and with 18s if you are concerned at all about ride comfort. I just recently got some new wheels and they are 18's and graphite grey/gun metal and they look plenty big to me.

If your driving it on the street, stick with 18''s ...they'll look just fine when you put suspension on the car (and you can run higher profile tires like others were saying).
I have 18'' OZ Superleggera's on my car and they look great, but I badly need to upgrade my suspension to get the wheels more into the wheel wells (tighter look).
