I wouldn't lease either. MAYBE the only time I would is if it were my second car (for the weekends and such) and I knew I didn't want to keep it for more than 2 years. but even that is still a maybe. with interest rates where they are now on new cars it probably wouldn't cost much more, if any, to just buy it.

:uh: Damn Tomek ... you went from EVO VIII, to STi, to 4G, to Civic SI, to RX8, to Altima :twitch: Just don't forget you PAPSMEAR license plate :fawk:

heh... yea, i've been looking for a while and I know I want a different car! My fiance is preasuring me "NOT" to get a sports car and I'm sorta thinking the same thing that I don't want a car to get parts for. It's fun, but i'm not getting much out of it!

what i really really want is a Maxima or TL! Both look great! What price i'm willing to pay for brings up an Altima!

I priced out the differences in excel on leasing and buying. True, I may end up with $7000 cash when i sell my Eclipse after paying it off, and $0 when i trade in the Altima, but then I have to re-invest the $7000 into another car, whereas I get a brand new car after 3 years with the lease for a $1000. and monthly payments, and its not like I'm NOT going to own a car one day! Does this make sense?

This thread is rife with the thoughts of someone who doesn't know what the hell he wants. :agreed:
been there, done that.

When you can really only afford to buy ONE nice car and you LIKE 5 or 6 it's hard to decide which one to buy. and then all the sudden 2 or 3 more come out and it's like WTF. do I buy the one that looks great but has so so performance or do I buy the one with great performance but so so looks...

Yes, however, I always did truly like the TL and Maxima's! I just didn't think I could afford them! Now with the lease it's a different story! Yet, I'm not quite sure if that is indeed a good idea or not!

Leasing is generally not the best thing to do, if you're considering it make sure and read through all the paperwork and work all the numbers to understand what you're giving up.

As for a car it sounds like you're looking for sports sedan. The top-of-the-line Maxima is an awesome car, very quick. How about a Mazda 6? or a BMW 3-series? (Can you say M3!)

Yea, i'm scared of the Mazda (from what I hear about it)!

Also, not big on BMW's... The Maxima is super sweet...

The 6 is a nice car, and can be had pretty cheap used. :dunno:

The new Maxima is a bloated pig, not worthy of its former glory. They're roomy cruisers now, not sports sedans.

I don't know wtf I want either, there's too many options nowadays. I went from the new Civic to the Mazda 3, and now I don't really want either of them  I'm thinking used 330i or G35 at the moment. :runaway:

No, it's a big piece of shit now. They were very good cars from gen one to gen 5.5, but this sixth generation is a total and complete fatass that is completely built in the US, and has the reliability and build quality to reflect that.

Buddy, do you realize that you pay property taxes on a leased vehicle? You also have to budget that in. And an Altima 4-banger is in no way worth that kind of money.

- Any miles you accrue over the 45k that you're allotted will cost you out the ass. To the tune of 15 to 20 cents per mile.

- You're also responsible for any damage that's beyond normal wear and tear.

- You must carry not only full coverage insurance, but with $300k comprehensive limits for a lease as opposed to a car you are purchasing. Meaning that you'll have to spend extra for balls-to-the-wall coverage.

- A leased vehicle And after paying the security deposit and all that cash every month, you'll have no equity towards another vehicle at the end of your 3-year lease.

An Altima SL is basically a uxury alternative to the Altima SE-R, saying that, they both use the VQ35.

Still, $27k for an Altima? :ugh:

What about 28k for a Camry? :ugh: Boobie, most decent mid size sedans nowadays are teetering in the mid to high 20s price wise.

Also consider the Altima starts in the mid 17s, right along with the Camry, and it's not too hard to swallow.
