Lots of fun :)

Took it off the road today. I figure it's going to take about 2 months or so (read 6 months with procrastination) to get it going again.

It'll be getting a new built 350hp 350 SBC, the nv4500 with 203/205 tcase setup, 1ton cv driveshaft, D60/14ff (arb in front, detroit in rear) with rear discs, 4" lift (52" swap up front, 4" shackle flip in rear), new floors (1/8" diamond plate steel painted and bedliner) from firewall to the bed, interior cage from 2" .250 DOM and a soft top. Plus some rust work on the body and a paint job.

This week will start pulling the front clip to get the old drivetrain out. Floors will get cut out and axles are getting setup next weekend with 5:13 gears and the lockers. About 80% of the interior will be coming out as well.

I measured it out and going with a sweet setup I think should work well. 5pt harness seats for driver and passenger, then some removable rear-facing rear buckets. I might even salvage the old rear bench seat and make a brackets so I can modify the rear seating to seat between 2-5 people. It will be cramped, but from what I'm drawing up on paper I can have the 2 rear facing buckets right behind the front seats normally. If I want to seat more, the rear bench can attach to a bracket to hold it in place right in front of the tailgate. 3 facing forward and 2 facing rear. If I can manage it, I will be able to seat just the 2 rear facing, or the 2 rear and 3 forward facing, or remove the rear facing seats and put the bench in the original location. Not much on the functionality, but just a cool idea IMO.

Got the new engine mostly assembled today. Will be getting tune and dyno in about 2wks, I'm going to guess and say with this setup that around 400-425hp/475tq or more and down in the 1500-2000 rpm range producing 80% of the power. Safe guess though, maybe more, maybe slightly less, but around those numbers should be reasonable. Not bad for less than $1100 spent so far.

Along with the above parts, recently got crane roller rockers 1.7 ratio, crower rods and pins, felpro head gasket and msd 6-offroad ignition. Just need a new TB setup and figure out fuel delivery and should be just about ready to go.

Also started with some fender work to clear the 38's. I'm only running a hair under 2" lift to keep COG low. I ran a shackle flip in the rear (flip gives about 3-3.5" lift) and yanked a leaf out. Rear runs nearly flat and flexes very well, but need to figure out something so it doesn't droop 2-3" when I tow the boat. Front I did 56" swap and 1" longer shackles, with a leaf removed in the front as well. It's just a hair under 2" lift and looks very good. Tires fill the wheels wells quite nicely and it's only about 6-7" higher than a stock blazer, so doesn't look outrageous like one of those crazy Texas trucks that can't even make it through a Taco Bell drivethru. In the end it will only be about 2" over height for lift laws, but that won't fail an inspection. With the larger tires and small lift, it really shouldn't even be that noticeable driving down the road.

Anyone ever had any experience with Enderle fuel-injected intakes? I picked up a 1yr old bug catcher for SBC with all the install hardware for $300 (over $1000 new) and was considering slapping it on.

At worst, I might put it on the 350 I'm building for the boat.

trimmed and pruned. Going to run it like this before I decide on a small lift or not. We'll see.

Yes I know the tires are flat... stupid hot and cold VA weather and not moving for a month, they just won't hold air for more than a few days. :(

Finally got a day that wasn't in the 90's to do some work...

Calipers up and mounted. Work great.

I decided 38's just weren't cutting it anymore. 40x13.5x16.5. Got 4 of them with great tread for a hair under $500.

Also picked up another blazer today. 84 K5, runs great, some body damage, 350/350/np205, $350

Basically just bought it for the np205 to run as my main tcase. Now to find a decent np203 for the range box. I am going to run the rally wheels and bfg's on my isuzu rodeo though. The 350 will probably go in the boat. The rear springs will go on the front of my blazer then the rest will get chopped up and sold at recycling.

Picked up this today for parts. I really just needed the tailpan and last 6" of the bed or so, the tailgate and some other misc parts. Ran great though for an 88 EFI 350. $500 and I drove it home.

I'm thinking, just for kicks, I'm going to mate the front end on this thing to my K5. Give it a more modern and original front end. Will definitely raise some eyebrows for fellow Chevy owners that know their stuff when they see it.

Unfortunately most of the rest of the running gear is useless to me. 14sf is junk and useless for what I want. Great for adding weight for recycling though!

More parts ganked today from the donor trucks.

Set of 30-40% 33" TSL's. I might use them for tire swings. I don't have anything that uses that small of a tire anymore :(

Spare 350 I'll rebuild again...

Tranmission... 32-spline sm465. Gonna use this over the nv4500. Stronger and much more plentiful if something breaks, meaning cheaper to fix.
