I bought this car used and the passenger seat belt guide on the seat is busted and I’d like to replace. Searched on here and found some instructions to remove back panel to get at the nut holding the post but I have done that and cant find anything thats not welded. Anyone know how to replace this part or at least remove it?

Ok, I’ll give that a go and report back. I tried to get the cover off but was concerned I would rip the 20 yr old fabric lol. Probably need to pry it off from the front after removing all the plastic clips on the back…. I dug around up inside the foam a long time searching without sight view but was looking for a screw or nut not an R clip so that is helpful. Thanks!

Sadly, shortly after this conversation, the transmission in her crapped out and she was in the shop for weeks. I did alot of soul searching on whether to pay the $3500 it took to fix it. Since I had already invested so much $ in other repairs and I love driving it so much I decided to spend the $. I have her back now and have plans to work on it this weekend.
I want to:
1. Fix the seatbelt guide
2. Get new seat covers, any recommendations?
3. Possibly invest in a custom molded dash cover because mine is severly cracked and I dont want to spend the $ to replace at least in the next year….
4. Refinish the headlights and possibly change the bulbs in the headlights so I can actually see at night
5. Replace missing fog lights or replace with cool covers so the front end doesnt look like shes missing her front teeth :)

i’ll think @ a laughing clip 😂 but my kids tell me I’m down right embarrassing to take to the movies which is where I got that nick name lol.

If you can do your own work, I recommend looking for used seats in good condition and just replacing the whole seat. You'll get better results that way, when compared to an aftermarket seat cover. You could even switch to a leather interior if you like.

Same thing for fixing the dash. I've seen good results with Eclipse dash covers; Widgmaster's looks very nice. But most of the ones I've seen look amateur. The Coverlay cover runs $300, and for that you can buy a used OEM dash with all the trim pieces. True, you'd have to install the dash and it's a moderately difficulty repair. (More difficult than say brake pad replacement, but not as involved as spark plug replacement on the V6.) But the results are, well, OEM.

The 3G Facebook group is a more active site and better for finding people parting out their cars or recovering parts from junkyards. There's a couple dashes for sale there now. But FB is terrible for technical advice on how to troubleshoot or fix things, and there's no historical information like there is here. It's easy here to find 20+ years of peoples' experience fixing a P0300 or whatever. Anyway, I think there's a role for both places.
