Basic 3gs engine ideas

I just have a basic question for the community. What are some good ways to up the performance of a 2001 3rd gen Eclipse Gt. Im aware I can really get a bigger engine but what are some good engine swaps available for the 3gs. I'd like to add more horsepower and if possible built a sleeper out of mine!

There's no significant difference in power between any of the 6G72s. The GTS is factory rated at just 10 more engine hp, and I believe later-year 3G Spyders have the GTS engine in the GT Spyder to make up for the additional weight of the Spyder. But you'll probably see greater performance improvements by replacing a dirty air filter and making sure your plugs and wires aren't too old.

Are there any visible clues that would indicate a GTS engine in my 2005 GT Spyder, if in fact the factory did that?
The particular reason I ask is that I will be replacing the clutch soon and bought the Exedy mbk1003 kit, which is for the GTS engine, and thus also requires the larger flywheel. If my engine is indeed the GTS engine, then wouldn't it already have the larger flywheel, which I can just get resurfaced. Or perhaps it came with the GTS engine, but the smaller diameter clutch kit/flywheel from the GT models?

But shouldn't I be able to tell by the intake manifold which engine I have? I've never bothered to compare the two because I just assumed I had the GT engine.

Well whatdaya know, my 2005 GT spyder does have the GTS engine!!! Only took me seven years to find out...LOL
But should I assume that I also already have the larger flywheel for the GTS clutch kit, or is it possible that I have a GT manual trans instead, since my badge is GT. Its my understanding that both fit in the same housing, correct?
