Borla Exhaust ?

I was looking on Tear's site at his exhaust systems. I noticed that there is a Borla Exhaust offered for the 2000+ V6 Eclipse but when I went to the Borla website, it said that they didnt make an exhaust for this car.

I know that there are lots of threads about which exhaust to go with, but I would like to know what the most popular one here is, and if anyone has bought a Tanabe exhaust for their car-what does it sound like ? What would you suggest if you want a deeper louder tone, rather than a high pitched noise. Again, I searched for this, and I couldnt find exactly what I was looking for.

I would also like to know about the benefits of the AEM V2 intake. When they say dual chambers does that just mean a larger front pipe with literally two chambers or is it just a normal pipe split down the middle that has an effect on airflow ? I also didnt see this available for the V6 GT yet, but I have seen threads, so whats up ?

Thanks for being patient with my questions.

There is a Borla cat-back system for the Eclipse GT, if you look on other random performance sites like Summit you'll find it.

I think more people go with the Greddy Evo II and Invidia than anything else. They are both very deep, and are the two loudest. If you don't like loud, I'd go with the Borla (my personal preference for the Eclipse). There is only one guy on here with the Tanabe that I know of, but I can't remember who it was. Almost all cat-backs should be pretty deep with the 3.0 V6.

The AEM V2 has two large chambers, not two small ones (equaling one large one). If you look at it on Summit, they say it won't fit the sportronic cars, but people on this site have it on their sporty GT's and say it fits fine. Oh, and it's available for the Eclipse GT (obviously, after reading that lol). Again, you can check Summit Racing.

Hope that helps man, maybe the pros will chime in.

I have a the Borla Proxs exhaust on my v6. I chopped off my resonators and threw on a denali tip. It has very loud deep tone that doesnt sound ricey at all. Not sure if you want the canister style exhaust, but cops in my area give tickets left and right with canister styles, so this exhaust was perfect for staying low. Also, they're 50 state legal. Also, I was next to a Magnaflow, and my Borla was much louder.
Heres a pic of my exhaust

Hope this helps you with the exhaust part. If not, Invidia is way to go, seems like the one of the most popular exhuast for our cars.

I have the AEM V2...It's a very nice design and is very loud as far as intakes and yes it is to different sized chambers...I'd say it's probably at least a half inch bigger on the bottom end of the intake(part that has the filter on it) and it narrows down right before the MAS...If you want me to post picture of it on my car i can.

I have a Borla Exhaust on my car with the AEM V2 CAI and it sounds great! I cant wait to get headers on my car. Then it will sound even better. Where are your resonators on your exhaust and how loud would your car be with them chopped off? And if you chop them off can you put new resonators back on?

Yanksball, it should fit on the I-4, but it will be louder than on the V6 I think. I'm also wondering if it's really noticably louder than stock, or just a little louder...I wish there was a way to hear these things in person lol
