I just want to see the opinions of others for what I'm doing. There are more in my album on my profile. i 'm in the middle of preparing to get rid of the doors and lower the weight on those also with my CF and Kevlar project. I also see it'll be longer than 1 year so my car will go down and I will buy another one to use as daily driver till I complete this one.

yes very real CF. also they are not pitted or uneven bro, That's the process when hand laying it takes weeks to perfect the look. The final product was the two top pictures. I showed how it is when you lay ,bake lay sand , then the final product. Very time consuming.

I can make you a pair to save you money. If you try this on your own it'll end up paying more in the mistakes you'll make and the supplies you need for Kevlar. it's much different than Carbon Fiber and more rigid. I can depending on what you want. Carbon fiber is 100.00, Carbon Kevlar is 130.00 and Carbon Spectra which is new its silver or whit its the strongest fabric and hard as crap to deal with. lol that's 190.00 a for a set of 4. let me know if you interested and we can use Paypal to do transactions. However I will need your set of clips to do the project for you. I could have them done in two- 3 weeks or less after I start.

The Carbon Fiber F-1 Fenders

Hey guys I'm now on my fenders and front fascia while I'm waiting to order other parts. So I'm going to skim thru on the fenders and front fascia for you guys for the Carbon fiber. Here are the first stage of the fenders and the laid stage. This will sit like this for up to 48 hours as of today. Pictures are included in the next reply:)

Okay here is the starting pictures. I have to still trim the parts and let it sit for 48 hours while I'm preparing to size up the fascia for carbon fiber only on the air inlet area on the invader 2 front fascia and the other fender.

I know with complex shapes it's hard to get the weave to be uniform, but if you could get that to lay down just a bit more uniformly the door handle surrounds interest me, as the Eclipses have the same door handle as the Galant. I would need four though.

Overall, great stuff man :yesway:

wetamup2k3g, Carbon fiber seemed easier but that damn Kevlar is a bitch around curves and gets rigid fast. Plus this is my first time going out on a limp but I know with practice comes perfecting kit and once i get the vacuum infusion kit and molding machine i can do bigger and better things. Right now I'm good crawling my way end lol.

here the stages for the front fascia is been sanded as I post these. The fenders are waiting to be sanded in a few hour hours to level everything out, before adding the last two coats. After all that I will re-sand from 220 up to 2500 grit so I can add 4 coats of clear coat to the fenders. The fascia will be sanded then, taped off to allow the design I want to show for the air inlet, while the rest of the fascia becomes black. Then I will clear coat the whole fascia with 5 coats of clear to pop out the black with the carbon fiber. All this in the next month a long but fun process.

Thanks Jerm.. Yeah Carbon fiber is very strong.. Soo the speed bumps will have to watch out when I'm done with this. So today I can say everything has been sanded and today I will go through and sand out all my pits with 1000 git and 1500 grit. Time to wet sand the fascia and later start the primer stage for the fascia. Also I have to pull out all the other trim from inside from the back seat buckle area all the way to the rear hatch paint, and layer some other areas with the Blue Hybrid. Also paint that freaking Beige headliner black.:turboboink:

Okay so here are the fenders at the final stage for the clear coat. I have to wait till o get money now to finish but this is clear coat 1 and 4 more to go. Also I have to sand the inside and bottom where the screws are to be to finish the final total fenders. The Fascia has been sanded today to level off the Carbon fiber resin to blend in when the fascia is painted and the Carbon fiber clear coated.

I don't know yet but I can say the dash is doing okay. I just have to go with trail and error. However it should be fine. I use UV protection resin Then i polish it out, then I clear coat wit dupli color clear coat for added UV protection. However the only reason the dash will be done again is because I need a whole dash in mint condition my dash was crumbled to nothing but I revived it. My standards has to be reached. But for me that's was my test to go to the fenders and I believe if the dash can handle a temperature of 120+ then the fenders will be fine. If you use the high quality products you will have no issues. Also I'm going to invest in High temperature Resin and Hardener for the future. if you want you can look into US composite or fibreglast .com for the quality I use. Never by ebay unless your 100% sure with the company's quality fabric and Resin.

Too be honest my whole project may be around 15000.00. Thats including re doing some mistakes in my trail and error and for the engine work, turbo addon from godspeed, mold the doors to Fiberglass lambo dooor's and the CF setup, paint job, rims and body kit, a new engine on the side, and new transaxle and stiffen upthe supension and add a 10-20 gal. fuel cell. Ill be on this project for a while Ionly put like 400-500 miles on it in 3 months.
