Stock Exhaust System

Hi Folks,

So I've reached the point where I'm trying to decide how much longer I want to keep the Eclipse (150K Miles), and how much more money, If any I want to put into it. I'd like to get maybe another year out of it, then I'd like to move up to a C5 Corvette and also get a beater truck to use for work/winter.

I had the Eclipse in for an oil change yesterday, and my mechanic pointed out to me that the exhaust system is starting to rust badly and that if I'm going to keep the car for a while, I might want to start saving to get it replaced. I probably need to think about new plugs and rocker cover gaskets too.

My question, does anyone make a COMPLETE aftermarket stock exhaust system for a 2003 Eclipse GT? Hopefully cheaper than buying OEM from the dealership? All I can find searching online is performance catback systems. I'm not interested in racing the car, I just want it to be a reliable, efficient, daily driver, and maybe get a decent price for it when it's time to sell. (Body is immaculate, not a speck of rust, or dings, scratches).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The most expensive part will be the headers and downpipe because it has a welded in catalytic converter. I replaced a bad cat on my 3g recently and my only oem replacement option was about $375 for the cat + downpipe. I bought a $100 magnaflow weld in cat and it works just fine. My rust problem was only major near the muffler, so I replaced it with a catback.

I've seen some decent-looking ones at junk yards but it's sometimes tough to find them at junk yards that haven't had the cats cut out. Your precats should be ok, but I know the y-pipe, especially the flex pipe, like to rust out.

Maybe you can find someone on here or craigslist who's parting out a stock(ish) Eclipse that can give you a deal, or replaced their exhaust and have the stock shit laying around taking up space.
