... No, I don't have an EVO!! :p

I'll be using this thread to show the gradual evolution of my 2000 Eclipse GS. :D
I bought it bone stock in February of 2006. Giving a 4g64 true "go" takes more than what I have the budget for currently, so I've been focusing mostly on giving her some "show" so far... :twothumb:
Nothing major...

Modifications (in COTM format)
Exterior:
-Wings West front lip
-black 5-pc Grillcraft grill
-Mitsubishi aluminum fuel door
-painted VIS cf Invader hood
-Redline Tuning Quicklift Pro
-TYC chrome tails (TYC cf tails awaiting necessary modification)
Suspension:
-Eibach Pro Kit (temp)
-KYB AGX adjustable gas shocks
-RRE rear strut bar
-GT front strut bar (OEM on V6 models)
Brakes:
-Auto Zone rotors w/ Checker (Abestos) brake pads
(AKA "no modifications)
Engine/Drivetrain:
-AEM CAI (blue), Ram Air for rainy season & winter
Interior:
-Gunmetal Grey painted accents
-XTAL clear blue overlays (Fuel & h2o Temp)
Stereo System/Electronics:
-03+ optional OEM Infinity 6-disk HU
-on third OEM center speaker... so far so good. :)
Exterior Lighting:
-HELIX smoked turns w/ PIAA hyperwhite bulbs
-black Depo projectors w/ 8K HID conversion
-custom wheel well LEDs
-Blue LED hood squirters
Interior Lighting:
-blue and purple LEDs

Yeah... I've got a pair of those stashed away. ;):D;)
I've decided to give the "chrome theme" a try for the time being.
I'll probably end up mimicking Tatum in the near future, though! :p

#8 ·
haha.... I was waiting for the inevitable "needs a drop" comment(s). Still kinda surprised it came from only the THIRD person to comment!
..... you DID check out the link I provided near the top, right? :nono:
I need my "4x4" to get me through :crap: like that!! ;)
With that said, I may stiffen up the suspension a bit and get a slight drop with a Pro Kit come Spring time. Anything lower than that is pretty much out of the question, as she's my daily driver and even the stock 4 inch clearance doesn't quite cut it at times....:ugh2:

The gauges are XTAL clear blues I bought from LUNAR along with some purple LEDs. (think I told you about 'em, Jamie)
Unfortunately, the Speedo and Tach were damaged in the mail and ended up kinda looking "cheap" when installed. Reserve judgement on them until I can get the night pics up. :D :p

Car looks pretty clean. Just need to get that thing dropped and get some rims.:bigthumb: Sorry again for what happened with the gauges. Will look much better if you decide to finish them off. How do the purple leds look at night?

lol..... I was joking with Mitsuboy1102 about how he could get a commission from the county with his Tracer 2 front and a planned drop. :p
Check out his recent MR thread, and you'll see what I mean!

:agreed:
That's one thing I've come to love about Colorado. There's NO SHORTAGE of beautiful scenery!
After washing our cars, my buddy and I drove only minutes from my apartment (maybe 3 miles) to take these pics!
----------------------------------------
(that's his ride below.... the one with the snowplow on the front end! :D)
Image

...... better pics of his ride HERE.

I'm "cross-promoting" for ya, Bernie.... and you've yet to even leave a comment in here!!

#14 ·
Wow Lucas you know I love your ride, But I know everyone is going to say drop it. But hey its F-ing winter here. I still say that you need some GT side skirts than your ride will look 10x better. And leave my snowplow alone. But yeah guys you gotta see the night shots of his gauges they look alot nicer at night. WE also did some nice custom lighting on his car that he is still leaving in the dark but they will be up soon im sure.

Keep it coming!

I'm diggin' the FEEDBACK!

Thanks for the support, Greg! :hug3:
Eventually I'll have the budget to bolster the performance as well.... perhaps even outstripping your RIPP'd off setup? :fawk3: ...I'm thinking DOHC head swap with a quality TURBO kit might do it? :D

I try to keep it that way as much as possible. ....rims like.... YOURS? :deal:

I'll get some night pics up shortly. I dig the purple LEDs behind the FUEL and TEMP, but I found the same bulbs didn't do much for lighting up the stock section...even after spending an hour or two scrubbing all the amber off the back...:twitch:
I've got some "blue" incandescents in A/T/M.... a little unsatisfied with the results so far. No worries on the gauge deal... $#!7 happens. :happysad:

awww...... :mecry: :p

lol... I PASSED a pretty li'l YELLOW-ish one on my way into work last night. :D
Actually, I couldn't resist a good look. I had to slow, pulled even, then sped off after flicking my "stealth switch" off and on again.
I still think mine's better looking than those things.... just wish it could perform like one.
......crazy Japanese auto makers and their "performance sedans"!!

I guess with that "stealth switch" comment I should let the cat outta the bag.... so to speak.
PICS ADDED of my custom LED's! :D

BUMP for new EDIT(s) and because I'd like more feedback on some of the custom work. :cool2:

#29 · (Edited)
Yeah.... I like 'em too, Dre! :bigthumb:
Actually, a lot more effort went into getting all the amber off the stock speedo/tach.
If I'd left the whole set in, it'd look like this:

(in the daylight, at least)

As for the wheel well LEDs, I think there are some more pics from a recent "mini-meet" that'll be closer to what you're asking for, Will.
... gimme some time. I might find something. ;)

Thanks!

As Bernie stated earlier, the pics can't quite capture the look of the wheel well LEDs.... sort of an subtle alternative to underglow. Enough to kinda catch your eye, but not nearly so flamboyant as casting light on the pavement as you pass.:ugh2:
I'll see if I can coerce some pics outta Bernie that support that description... or take some new ones. ;)
Thanks for your appreciation of the dash, though, Capt. Drizzle! (I just keep comin' up w/ 'em.. I dunno)
You DO realize I passed on the installation of the center piece, though.... right?
There were a few deciding factors in this.... um, decision. Primarily, I just couldn't stand the cheap look of the "warning lights" along the top...and the lack of a "needle stop" @ the bottom.
Plus, as I mentioned, the plastic was warped.
The needles stuck a bit on the first try with the STOCK overlay....
I can't imagine what these would've done:
