A coupler blown off would lead to serious run issues anytime you started making boost. Bogging, lagging etc will result from a coupler not being properly attached and air being leaked out of it.

On a number of vehicles and all end up w/ the same result.

DSM sidemounts suck w/ the stock intake tubing. It's plastic and a bitch to get to seat right. Have I ever had the intake piping completely disconnected from each other? Only when the car isn't running but I've definitely had serious leaks and what happens is what I wrote above.

Update:
Well things are looking very good - was able to take her out for another drive around the block, and didn't stall at all, or even come close to stalling. Guess I had to give the ECU a bit more time to adjust. :yesway:

Now all I gotta do is get her through that 500 mile break-in period, and I've got a lot of excuses to go for a drive

500 mile breakin? I'm ignorant to the beginning of this thread so pardon me ;).. new motor?

turbo kits now have a dreaded break in period? say it aint so
As with anything mechanical, it's recommended to break it in slowly.

10. This forum is for technical discussion of FI and nitrous systems. It is not a place to promote your belief that one system is better than another. Any unprovoked bashing of another system is unacceptable and will be dealt with in a firm manner.
This is your warning Shane.

so the breakin in period is about the same as the SDS or 3/4 of it?

interesting. that was never made public before. thanks for the warning
btw what rule am i breaking? what i said was fairly innocent. why you continue to rule these threads with CLU political correctness is a good reason why salesmen shouldnt be a moderator. You immediatly assume any negative turbo post is directed against your company. i used to think you were about the car and platform. that not cool :(

The only problem i see with these is that they are american style injector and not jappenesse, you can tell by the nozzle size, just make sure you seal them up good so that you have no air leaking by.
actually good point. If there is air leaking by the injectors would that cause a misfire all the time or what. Im getting a very random cylinder 1 misfire and im wondering if this might be a problem. Maybe i ripped o ring or somthing

If you ripped an o-ring you would be leaking fuel from the rail. If you tore up an insulator where the injector goes into the plenum you could physically hear an air leak.
