Ok I searched and didn't find anything that would truly answer this question, plus I didn't know whether to post this in here or the GT/GTS discussion, but how hard do you think would it be to swap a V8 motor and trans into our cars? Yea i know everyones reaction is going to be "No way you're gonna have to convert it to RWD, not worth the time or money," but what about a transverse V8, like the 5.3's that are in the Monte SS or the SHO motor? Any suggestions or opinions?

I guess you can do anything if you're willing to spend the time in the money. But this thread is nearly 14 years old, and there has been major progress on viable swap options. The 3.8 6G75, EVO engine, and Mits AWD systems have all been successfully installed into the 3G to one degree on another. And by sticking with Mits for chassis, engine, and drivetrain components will make the install WAY easier. Mits has had pretty good compatibility across their platforms. While some modification would be required in certain circumstances, many parts will bolt right up. This would be the direction I would go if I were considering 'swaps'.
