Just get a big brake kit please. The painted calibers arent to good looking but if you must, paint them whatever color you like. I had mine painted at one time but i had to keep getting them painted because of cracking. They say it is high temperature proof but thats a lie!

 

You cant paint the rotors buddy.

 

Ughhh....Really??? You can most certainly paint or powder coat the portion that doesn't make contact with the brake pads.

In fact, many reputable dealers powder coat the center portion of their rotors to prevent rust......

 

just get them powder coated

 

That is another reason to get on with this project by painting them I will prevent rust and not just for looks. It is terrible to look at rusting parts. What about going on a date and she looks at it- it just makes me feel dirty.

 

I call bullshit on that one. If you're on a date, and your date is noticing the rust on your rotors, it's not a "she" you're out with.

 

LMFAO That's the damn truth, but still having clean rotors and brakes is like having clean shoes.

If you do an emergency stop from 60 in front of her house... that should remove the rust... just saying.

 

I painted mine a burnt orange. I used high temp. spray paint. The can was about $6. Just make sure to clean them up nice with some brake cleaner

As small as the OEM hats are on the 3G, I have no idea why you would want to draw attention to them by painting them in a color? Why not leave them in their natural finish?

 

Just curious, what is their natural finish? Because mine are rust lol. (I had mine painted black, but got my brakes done, so they threw on a set of rebuilt calipers).

 

At this point I think black will do. Matching the color of the caliper with the car pearl white is too tacky.

about the rotos again. Why would you want to paint the center. When your wheel is on your not gonna see that part anyway.

 

Yes, you can see them. I have Stoptechs and you can most definitely see the center and the surround of the rotor. They will rust and tarnish over time. If you have nice wheels, and a BB kit on your car, why would you want to see rust? That's why you paint them. See the black surround exposed behind the wheel?

 

yeah, girls pay attention to detail...so maybe if the date doesnt notice the rust..then the date isnt a "she"

i gotta admit u are right if u got that kind of setup with the brakes and wheels.

 

Just finished doing the front brakes and what a difference it makes. It is worth going through the process. My car now looks cleaner and more beautiful than ever. It was the one thing lacking.
