When assembled, the cutoff is to be at the bottom so when the lens flips it the cutoff is on top.

Everybodys assumptions about the cut off line could be right. When i first turned them on tonight i thought something wasnt right. My first thought was they were aimed too high. Before i crack these headlights open again i need to get some info on the projectors. Mainly where the cutoff plate is.

The cutoff is that aluminum 'lip' with the step on it.

When assembled, the cutoff is to be at the bottom so when the lens flips it the cutoff is on top.

haha, it HAS to be upside down, at first I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and was going to suggest a quality photo, but taking a closer look there is no light below the cutoff, on the road... IDK about FX-Rs, but the sonar projectors have the "top" side marked.

I thought I saw that too, but I wasn't sure if the reflector bowl was also upside down.

In the distanced output shot you can also see that the driver's side is pointing way down, at the ground, while the passengers is more like it should be, if it were right side up. Just picking, nevertheless I commend anyone doing a retro, everyone has to start somewhere, just ask jeremy.

@ Bitter- Being that I've only had my hands on ebay sonar halogen projectors I don't know the inner workings of the Bi-xenon projectors to their entirety just yet.

haha nope theres no label on the fx-r for top or bottom. Its a simple fix. It wont be hard to crack them open this time around. Ill need to get more glue though for sealing. So its settled crack em open flip it and seal them. Ill do that on sunday and if it dries quick enough i can install them before night fall

I personally wouldn't rush the drying process, just let em sit over night unless you absolutely have to drive that night, or real early in the morning. :dunno: that's just my personal opinion. Did you go with butyl rubber to seal it up, or something like RTV?- that could completely change my opinion.

oh i wont rush it trust me besides i have another set of stock headlights to swap. Im using butyl rubber for sealing.

So both projectors are upside down correct?

By the looks of things, yep. When you look through the projector lens you should see the shield on top. My avatar picture is looking through the lens of my projector, you can see the shield in the picture. When looking through the back of the projector, like what Bitter reposted through the bowl you should see the shield on the bottom.
