I’m looking to buy a project 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante but it’s insanely rare and there’s hardly any information on it. I was able to talk to some people and find out that the MHIC 3.8L v6 with the 5 speed would be the easiest swap if I needed to ever replace the engine or get rid of the horrendous 4 speed auto. I would love to hear any thoughts on that swap as well as how much it might cost

The Diamante was an under rated gem from back in the day IMO, unfortunately I only have cursory experience with them. It's more or less a stretched Galant platform wise but had some unique suspension. Essentially any V6 swap that fits a Galant of the same generation should fit a Diamante. You might have more insight over on a Galant centric forum.
For the money when they were new they were an excellent value, super smooth and quiet cars with well fitted interiors, a better value than an entry level 3 series from BMW.
