I have hytech headers I bought used. As with used there is always some reconditioning. Where the flange was welded onto the HFC... it wasnt welded exactly straight.
its was welded more like this ---> /
This means I have an exhaust leak at the bottom. I orginally thought it was leaking because I tried to make a gasket work from the local autozone. So I paid $25 for one from hytech. [OT: let me just say that buying pieces from them is a rip off. Two gaskets and replacement studs and springs for the flange was $95! shipped]
To make a long story short I dont have anyone locally I trust to cut it off and rewelded it on correctly. I thought if I could get a little spacer behind the gasket it would create a seal between the flange and gasket. I'll give more details on dimensions if someone can help.
Also open to an other suggestions...
I also have a leak at one of the joints of the headers where there is no place for a bolt to bring them tighter. Any suggestions there? :wiggle:
