Ok well i searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. Anyways where is the Ecu located I'm pretty sure its under the dash on the passenger side but where exactly? This is on a 03 GT if it makes any difference. thanks.

under dash on pass side. pull the carpet down a little and you'll see the wiring harnesses. you have to unbolt 2 small bolts (one holds the ECU bracket in place and one is for grounding wires (IIRC)). Should require a 10mm (maybe 8mm) socket. once unbolted you pull the bracket/ECU straight down (may have to wiggle it to get it started). make sure you disconnect the battery before messing with the ECU.

not visiblie in either pic. like I said, pull your carpet down some. you should then see a "bare metal" looking piece. that is the bracket that the ECU is fixed to. the bracket is only attached at the bottom (1 bolt). The wiring harness will have 2 or 3 seperate plugs (larger and more rectangular than those in your pics). you may have to remove the door sill or some other trim on the pass side in order to pull the carpet down.... but that carpet MUST be pulled down toward the floorboard in order to access the ECU's bracket mounting bolt.

I'd snap a pic of mine but company is over :(

Oh, I'm not positive but you may have to remove that foot heater vent.... but I hear it doesn't snap back into the hole easily. I never tried putting mine back in :dunno: I do know that you pull it straight down and it comes out. The ECU is REALLY up in there man. I mean it is probably up as high as the top of the glovebox. Its hidden very well and is not visible until you remove the bracket bolt and pull the carpet & bracket down.

And how exactly do you plan to tune this thing by pulling the ECU out?? Are you adding a piggyback, datalogger or what? I have done this for an SAFC2 and a ZT2.

Removing the ECU is a joke. On scale of 1-10, with 1 being easiest, this is a 2 at most.

Ummm, unless you have a 2000 ECU (I think you have an 03), why exactly are you trying to get to the ECU? The Tactrix cable interfaces through the ECU's OBD-II port under the steering wheel...

Please stay away from your car's performance parts if you can't find the OBD-II port - even the monkeys at AutoZone know where that's at.

It's under the steering wheel homie... just look around i'm sure you'll find it.
 what makes you say it is under the steering wheel? I thought my explaination was spot on. All the 3G ECUs I have seen have been on the passenger side.

Well this guy is all messed up.
:agreed:

He has the tatrix cable so he just needs to plug it in under the steering wheel. There is no need for him to even touch the ecu which is under the passanger side dash against the firewall.
:agreed:

Black: I highly suggesting you do some researching and reading up on the ECU flashing/tuning before you proceed any further. It shouldn't be difficult AT ALL if LogicGate is tuning it for you and you already have a wideband sensor installed. If you dont have a wideband installed then you shouldn't be tuning yet anyway.
