She's got some quirks and I'm working past em... I'm still proud as hell of her though! (Also, the engine is sans headers right now in preperation for a state inspection... and yes, those are zip ties. Military grade bish.)

I lost one of the damn caps and I'm still looking to replace it... anyone know where I can find one?

Shes dirty... but quite fast!

Random picture at night. Please excuse the grainy quality. Santa still has yet to bring me a decent digital camera.
Image

Front end... still dirty.
Image

Yeah that manifold is all me... four hours of wire brushing got that bad boy sparkling.
Image

At one point, I actually had the ENTIRE engine wiring harness out of the car. I wrapped it in convoluted wrap and tape. I like the turnout.
Image

The engine bay is a bit dirty but I know whats there.

That dual exhaust was actually there when I bought it but I had the entire thing redone from the headers to the tips... its an actual even flowing "Y" instead of a "T."

Yeah seriously though... anyone know where I can find that wheel cap?

Thanks man... I was thinking that too. I'll wash it and see if the pictures turn out a bit better.

#4 ·
I did! But... I gotta buy the whole damn wheel... and they're on back order. Even tried eBay... nuthin. I'll keep searching though! Someone somewhere has to have my cap!

Surely! I can do the routing picture but not the exhaust video... until I borrow my friend's camera, that is!

Here are some "clean" car pics... maybe they do a bit more justice.

And this is for Scarr... how the exhaust was done. I had them half the pipe and weld them together evenly to get that "evenflow" out of both pipes.

Nice car except the exhaust does not flow with the car well and also I don't think you are the first 3.5 swap in VA there was others IIRC.

#17 ·
Thanks for the compliment bro... I just put that on my sig for shits and giggles really, there's no patent or copyright behind it. Feel free to put it on yours if you want!

wow wire brush, i sure hope you dont mean by hand??? i did a light coat on mine (5 mins) with a power drill and wire brush that goes for a dremel.

#24 ·
Yup... by hand. I even did the fuel rail and lower plenum!

mufflerless? that is something we can't get away with here in PA. we have to have every part that was originally there... at least it has to LOOK like we have every part. (many have hollow cats to pass.) and in SOME counties we get sniffed, others, we don't.

#25 ·
...Man... now that I look at it close... those friggin tips are sticking out too far!!

#26 ·
:doh::slap: yea they are. although try my idea next time it saves alot of time. i polished my gt one not the diamante one yet since i haven't had the time.

#27 ·
it looks so much better clean. your exhaust tips are fine. mine stick out that far also. it was the only way to fit the muffler in after redoing all the piping. if you do redo the muffler, go under axel.

I don't mind the wheels, but the blue fogs aren't my taste. I also agree with most that have posted on the exhaust. I'm not a fan of how far the tips stick out, and I have to believe that with no muffler or glasspacks or anything, that thing must be horrifically loud. Which is good and bad I guess. I personally wouldn't want to drive it everyday as I like the fillings in my teeth to stayput, but hey, that's just me. If it's not your DD and you like it loud, then that's a little more understandable, I guess!

As for the zipties (yech!)... Fill those holes and get one of these:

Altec 400U - Altec Products Show N Go License Plate Frames - Overview - SummitRacing.com

I just got one and it's awesome :)

Also, there's no close up pics of your trunk lid. Did you weld up the old spoiler holes and repaint? If not, i forsee some mold and rust in your trunks future!

Thank you for your input Zeke. You are incorrect, however, about the rust and mold. Did you ever get a chance to look at where those holes in your trunk actually are? I'm guessing no. Those holes open up directly into a channel which is actually made to drain water all the time. There is no forseeable rust or mold in my future, thanks. I'm glad you got around to doing it to your car, however, I noticed you don't have that paint problem plaguing alot of our black Mitsus. See, with painting, that creates a whole hassle of mismatching and, as I really don't have the 1200-1800 dollars required for a good paint job, I'm really not gonna bother with anything more then a few black body clips right now. Honestly, when I saw your post of memebers rides, I started feeling like you were rubbing that shit in my face and I didn't appreciate it at all. I also bet your new license plate thingy is awesome... for the very short amount of time that you had it, I guess. You see, I think it was Black-Out's signature who could describe my car best... I'm not worried about how pretty my car is... especially when you underestimate and it spanks your sorry ass all the way down the track.

#37 ·
Yeah but then I couldn't "Wow" you with my wire brush story! I'm all about elbow grease steve-o!

#38 ·
you make me laugh Solar...

your car is one of the first that i actually like without a spoiler... there had to be a first!

looks pretty clean. not likin the wheels too much, but i never liked anything that didnt have a stepped lip or concave anyhow, so that is all subjective...

otherwise nice goin, and id like to hear what that exhaust sounds like!

Thanks for the compliment bro and its funny you would say that about the rims... my next set has a gorgeous lip on them... they're called "Nogaro" from TSW... check em out. Dibs!
