Usually there's a round clip or spring clip that holds the cylinder into the body. Normally on the back.

 

 

To get the glove box out you need to squeeze the sides in and it will fall forward. There are a few screws you need to remove to get at the lock. As Bitter has said it is held in place with a clip. Once you see it I'm sure you can figure out how to remove the clip.
