2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Special Edition

Mitsubishi has announced a new "Special Edition" package will be made available for its 2006 Lancer econo-sedan. The Lancer SE will ring it at a very reasonable price of $16,099 and include items that dress up the Lancer's appearance. For instance, the SE gets 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and color keyed mirrors. The interior features a power glass sunroof, six-speaker stereo, Alcantara seating surfaces and vinyl bolsters. The SE content, however, is only skin deep, as it retains the base Lancer's 2.0L four-cylinder that produces a meager 120 hp. The little four-pot is good for 34 mpg highway/27 mpg city, though.

2006 MITSUBISHI LANCER SE: DESIRABLE FEATURES IN A
SINGLE PACKAGE AT AN OUTSTANDING VALUE

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is thrilling buyers in the entry-level sedan market with a value-driven "Special Edition" package for the already attractive 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. The 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer SE offers alluring features at a very competitive price of $16,099 MSRP for consumers looking for performance and distinctive styling.

The spacious and comfortable interior of the well-featured 2006 Lancer is augmented on the SE with standard black Alcantara™ seating surfaces with vinyl bolsters, chrome inner-door levers and silver mesh instrument panel accents. Other standard premium features include a power glass sun roof, cruise control, variable intermittent wipers, 6 audio speakers, and remote keyless entry. All Lancers are well-equipped with standard air conditioning, power windows and door locks, AM/FM/CD audio, clock, center armrest with storage console and tilt steering wheel.

On the exterior, the Lancer SE enhances the sophisticated and upscale look of the 2006 Lancer with 15" aluminum alloy wheels, chrome outer-door handles and color-keyed mirrors. The "Special Edition" is available in four exterior colors: Cool Silver, Graphite Gray, Igloo White and Labrador Black.

The 2006 Lancer SE is powered by a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter, SOHC, 16-valve four-cylinder engine that provides excellent fuel economy of 34 mpg highway/27 mpg city with manual transmission. With a peak of 120 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 130 pound-feet of torque at 4,250 rpm, the 2.0-liter engine offers abundant low-end and midrange power.

Two newly available accessory packages allow buyers of the Lancer Special Edition, as well as the ES model, to customize their vehicle. For an additional $485 MSRP, consumers can select a CD changer package that includes a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. An appearance package is available for $258 MSRP for styling enhancements including a scuff plate, front and rear mudguards and a bright exhaust finisher.

I think it's a good value. Alloy wheels and sunroof for about $17k and gets good mileage. Cheaper than the Civic EX(msrp $19k) or Corolla XRS (msrp $18k with the sunroof as an option). The Nissan Sentra Special Edition is msrp $16,500 with 16" alloys but no sunroof.

Funny you should mention that as I was car haggling about that car a month ago. Anyway, the short of it was, yes it's $16,500 but since that body style is on the way out, Nissan is pushing them out, so you can actually get them for around 13k before tax, tag, etc. I don't know all the features, but I remember you get a loud ass Rockford Fosgate system with sub.

For motorcycles and high-revving engines, yes.
it makes peak power at 5,500 rpm. its not high revving. weedwhackers rev higher than that!

My car seems like it's geared like a truck , it starts pulling at 1800-2200 RPM, any lower and I am driving a dump truck, and not a sports car, :woot:
i'll be flamed, but my engine is the same way. tq is there from ~2500 till 5000rpm. no tach owns my estimates

You can get all that and more with the Scion tC and the tC has 160 hp, Toyota build quality and a 5-year/65k mile warranty.

corolla xrs is a car in a different market than the base lancer with some trim. the xrs is more in the ralliart lancer territory.
