I'm running dual 24" monitors and can't seem to figure out how to stretch wallpapers to both screens... until I realized it probably won't stretch unless I have the proper resolution.

Anyone know of some great, high res photography desktop wallpaper sites? I'm not looking for stupid abstract, digital nonsense. Specifically looking for cityscapes and skylines and such.

Right now I found a couple of 1920x1080 gorgeous NYC scenes that I have cycling through on both monitors, but I'd rather one just stretch between the two. :)

I googled all night, but hardly any sites have the resolution I need. :(

One of my favorite sites to go to is shorpy.com, all vintage photography in hi-res...and almost all of them are free for download. You will have to look around a bit to find that high of res (or crop/modify any you like), but I get lost in all the stuff there.

4chan has a hi-res forum that has some damn good images too, believe it or not.

As a side note, I will be running dual 24"s here shortly as well :)

Yaaay! Thanks mark, and enjoy your monitors!

I only got them because they were 30% and slightly less expensive then the 20"s. I had no idea what I was getting into until they arrived! We took them out of the boxes and said, "Where the hell are we going to put these?!" So right now they are on this, mini-foldout-beer-pong-looking junk table we had down in storage . We will be shopping for a new computer desk for me sometime next week.

Edit: On a side note, at least I have some sort of a desk that's finally big enough to fit my tablet on!

Ha! I actually built a stand to hold my dual 22s, they barely fit...now I have dual 19s that fit better but I will probably have to build another stand when I get the second 24" in (I already have one 24" that I use on a different desktop). Good luck and post up if you find something from shorpy!

WRONG FORUM!!!!!!

:p

actually try smugmug also. People usually upload ful res files and if you click on "original" they should be well past what you need.

Also, if you like anything on my site (stuff I took) let me know and I can send you the full res version.

My problem isn't finding high res, but finding 3840xAnything that will stretch between the two screens. :(
again, let me know if there is anything on my site. It's not the greatest but my res is much larger than that so I can send you the full image and you can resize it to whatever you want. Then you'll have the proper resolution and I guess it will work?

or are you still having trouble figuring out the computer part of how to actually do it?

Rick, you never linked your website. :p

And I should be a BIT more specific... definitely looking for NYC wallpapers. :blush2:
:ninja2: go there and take your own.

www.alloverphotos.com

If you look in "other" there is a pano section. 99% of the images won't be the right size so like I said, let me know if there are any you want and I will send you the .DNG file.

Most of what you're going to want is going to be in travel or animals.

Sorry, no NYC shots though.
