Notice how you cannot access ANY part of the engine. This is to ensure that only people with serious intentions actually get anything done.
Opusx has one. Whoa. That car is so hard to work on, it's unbelievable. He changed out the turbos last summer, we had to pull the engine. There is nothing minor that can be done engine-wise on that car without either A) pulling the engine, or B) having a robust collection of specialty tools that are useless on any other car. It's almost like the car was built directly around the engine.

 Sam
That car is ridiculous. It's my favorite Z, but I swear I've never been around a more crowded engine bay. There's no room. I am dead serious, we changed the turbos out, the engine had to come out to do it. That's just the tip of the iceberg. If you spend any amount of time on a big Z31 forum like Twin Turbo.net you'll be amazed how common it becomes to pull the engine for anything, I mean anything, because there's no room to work.

its not really dual ownership. he is the bank, so its his money. i do 90% of labor. it his car that we will be working on together. when he gets back, he said he is going to try and buy me a mitsubishi starion that is sitting here in town. matters if we can get it for a good price.

:agreed: The short cut to working on any part of that engine is to pull the engine.

I agree with you man. This car is insane and extremely fun to drive. I love it as well. If only I can find one for cheap

news on the car. it should be in my garage around february 5th for some standard work so that i can drive it for a little while. im going to change the plugs, give it an oil change and check the belts. i do know that the steering column has a short, so i will start working on that and see if i need to swap it for a different column. also, i need to check the fuel float and see why its not working. its a 20yr old car. i know there are going to be some old bugs to work out of it. at least this old man still has all of his service receipts.

That won't be for a while. Were going to make it drivable first. Then my friend has to save up to buy everything. He wants us to do the whole build in one straight shot.

were looking at doing the 350z brake swap also. the stock brakes look like a civics brakes behind those wheels. on the front there is only 1/10in of space between the caliber and the wheel.
