3G meets house; what's the repair cost?

My wife drove my 3G into our house. What's the repair cost going to be ballpark, I'm assuming more than my $500 deductible?

Also, when you drive your own car into your own house, does your auto insurance cover the house damage, or does the house insurance have to cover that? And any guesses on the repair cost for the house?

cheapest solution is to get a new wife.

quotes vary wildly by area, you're better off asking in a regional forum.

you'll need atleast a bumper cover and paint.

as for the house, you need to get the tarped up quick, water getting behind stucco makes a huge mess. it gets trapped, rots, etc and gets pricey.

Assuming the repair on the car is only cosmetic and the damage is confined to the closeup in the photo, new bumper, new headlight, and a new turn signal. Assuming you buy all OEM parts and replace, it should be approx $1,000 at most, but my guess is less. As a rough estimate, be prepared for $1k.

The damage on the house is covered under your homeowners insurance policy if you choose to claim it. You need to have the stucco re-done obviously, so call and get an estimate to repair. I personally would not claim that on homeowners insurance. As far as the vehicle, I wouldn't claim that either as it would fall under collision since you impacted an object while in motion. That claim could have the potential to increase your rates.. so the cost increase may not be worth it.

Suck up the mistake and pay for it out of pocket and find a new wife.

Yeah, yeah, but I can't trade this wife in yet, I've still got 36 months of payments.

So I'm thinking of just getting a black leather car bra to cover the damage. I figure I can buff out the scratches on the headlight by using micromesh up to 12,000 grit. I read the FAQ about car bras. I'm not worried about gravel and grit getting underneath and damaging the paint. I'm not too worried about taking it off when it rains since I'm located in Phoenix, though I'd rather not have to remove it every time it gets wet. I guess my main concern is whether 120 degree temperatures would be problematic in creating chemical reactions between the car bra and the paint, or the possible short life of a car bra from UV exposure.

So, would a car bra be a good solution? Any recommendations on brand/model?

So the turn signal has a very slight hairline on it, but I was able to put a new bulb in and it works like a charm, though some of the support plastic on the electrical wire broke off so I'll probably replace that.

I tried to reach in and push the dent back out, but didn't have any luck, so I guess I'll have to remove the bumper to see if I can fix that. Are there any tricks for reversing bumper dents without having to remove the bumper first?

Use a heat gun if it doesnt want to pop back out. Sometimes it will still have a memory of where it should be and heating up a lil bit will get it to pop back into place. If nothing else it will make it softer so you can push it back into place and then put a little cold water on it to coool it back down and it should stay.

If you are in ohio H.E.M. auto parts can get you a front bumper for $115 it' s after market oem replacement. Takes litteraly 30min to maybe an hour to install due to fitment being slightly off but not noticable. As far as headlights and turn signals keep an eye out in the for sale threads ppl tend to sell those rather frequently.

Scratches on the headlight and turn signal can be sanded and then polished. As for the front bumper you can get a new aftermarket bumper with paint for $260 shipped off of eBay, heres 3 vendors. Hell pay with paypal and get 25% cash back while your at it lol. Then just go ahead and replace the bumper and it should be good as new. As for your house, doesn't look too bad so try finding a small local company and they should be able to fix that for a couple hundred.
