OK Ok i have decided to do the DOHC swap on my eclipse so i will have a SOHC head that is P&P with a custom intake manifold for sale here soon. But before all that I have a couple of questions to ask before i start purchasing parts and tearing apart my block. First yes i did use the search function but i see conflicting heads being used in the swaps. Ok i know you can use the Evo 8 head but lets be honest is it really worth getting that head when you can get a kia head or a sonata head in its place being that im not going to use any of the stock valve train cams intake manifold or cams gears in the head plus i have standalone enegine mangement so i dont need any stock sensors. Second questions is exactly which heads can i use in know the 2.4l 2004 optima and sonata heads but when i do a parts search heads all the way from 2001 comes up for the kia and heads all the way from 2002 comes up for the sonata i have the actual parts list that i do need i just need help with which actual head to pick

Well guys i found the answer to my own questions with that said i have found a 2001 kia head well the whole motor was 450 dollars, parts to be order are

Aem cams gears
Aem water/meth kit
magnus intake manifold with 75mm tb
crower 272/272 cams
crower valve spring and retainer kit
crower 1mm oversized valves

To the guys that have already done the swap do you see any conflicting parts in this list standalone enegine mangement will remain the same to get rid of the coil packs any help will be appericiated

not so sure man the car ran well with the sohc i dont no if you seen the dyno results at 15psi with the pics but i guess what really changed is i went to the dealer the other day and saw the evo and really fell in love with the car again lol, but lets face it with the ecomony the way its is and my eclipse is paid off why create more debt you know. what is the next best thing dohc swap

napalm was making about 450whp with 20ish psi on the evo head and a good EMS tune, not to mention he said when he swapped alot of his cooling and knock problems went away.

your 1000 percent right man knock i dont have cooling i might have it here in va in the summer also the ease of ordering parts you know lets see ording from rpw vs crower which would you choose i have also found that 400 hp in the sohc head with a 6k rpm band is really short even with a gt 30 bb turbo with the swap ill take it to 7-7500ish
