I love the Spyders in that color. I would just leave the OEM wheels alone.

 

you can't paint chrome, you can paint some very high gloss silver but it will not look like chrome exactly and be much more prone to damage.

I've seen those rims actually chromed before, and I didn't think it looked half bad. However, I still think you should save your money and buy some nice aftermarket rims you can be happy with.

 

Well being my dad would do it at the shop it wouldn't cost anything. Would you happen to have a picture of the wheels?

yeah, really, worst case scenario: it looks like crap, or flakes off, and you just sandblast and repaint the a nice new silver.

 

Yeah I'm going to think about it I just wish I could see it on a car already done and have a good idea about what the final product would look like. Is there anyone that is good at doing chrome in ps?

 

I know its been said in this thread, but this isn't chroming, its like chrome paint....so to speak, the new dodge "chrome" wheels are the same way, chrome plated with like a plastic-like paint. Real chroming involves dipping in various chemicals, but i will say if you do the paint chrome right it looks cool

 

Right, I never said it would be real chrome but I know also I believe acura's are using a chrome paint on there wheels and don't look too bad.

 

For what it's worth. I think chrome on 95% of the cars out there just looks bad.

Like they said just do it if its free, or you could just get some other wheels that are chrome if thats what you want.

IMO i think black or bronze wheels are a better color for our Titanium cars.

 

hey if this kid can get it done for basically free, and still have the look of an aftermarket wheel, i'd say go for it, like scarr said, worst than can happen you redo it back to silver.

this is actually a good idea. I just saw one the other day with the same stockers. The spokes were painted black and lip left alone. As the car was moving, they looked like after market wheels. I went to catch up with the 3g to see if her was on here. As i got close, it was an old dude and came to find they were painted stockers. Nicely done though.

 

I remembered I had a old rim in my shed from when the previous owner hit a pot hole and bent the rim so were prob gonna use that rim to test it out.

 

I like those wheels, my spyder also came with those, and i would have kept them too, had they not been in terrible shape.

 

Slam some gunmetal paint on there and call it a day.
