Just curious, i wanted to see what everybody thought. I just wanted some good input. The 3g looks good and its fun but not fast.

As for fast and fun right out of the box, you can't really go wrong with anything that is AWD and FI'd.

Incredibly stupid and totally impractical yet a pure sports car, the Elise.

Shit your pants fun with the slightest mash of the accelerator...Viper, nothing feels like that car, the Z06 is polished compared to a Viper (any year); that car is on the edge and will let you know about it instantly.

Refined, dead solid quiet holy shit "from a roll" highway speed, bone stock with silly luxury appointments, E39 M5.

Aww Sammy, you warm my heart and my gonads :wub: I'm honestly surprised that any of the current Lotus vehicles are only mentioned this once. The normally-aspirated versions may not have much horsepower, but the Elise weighs 1980 lbs and the Exige just 70 lbs. more at 2050. Literally the lightest street-legal automobile you can buy. Nothing but an aluminum tub surrounded by fiberglass. You'll die if you get in an accident Despite only 190 hp, they run 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and a mid-13-second 1/4 mile. Get a supercharged version of either and you're looking at solid low-13s. But drag racing's not the point, circuit and AutoX is You guys can have your 400-hp, 4000 lb boats, nothing beats throwing a small, extremely lightweight, mid-engined, rear-drive car around the twisties, the engine roaring right behind you like an F1 car :woot:

 

And yes, I left out almost every big-block domestic because ergonomically, in my opinion, they lack a whole bunch when compared to foreign counterparts. And while you can easily make an older Mustang peel your ears back from sheer speed, getting used to the fucking horrible MT shifting linkage is a nightmare; and the Camaro and the boat nose, and weird general feel of the drivers position to me is about as inspiring as a church pew strapped to a rocket. No thanks.

if you have a good DD car now, like your eclipse that you've held on to for 4+ years.. get a car that will be specific in what it does. Its all up to you in what you want. Do you want to do autoX, drag, do shows, etc. I have the z28 as a road-race/drag car and great cruiser with the top down, and the Vette is a great show car. The Z is 2-3 times faster than the Vette but the Vette always gets the most attention.

Its hard to suggest a vehicle without an intention or plans for it.

 

MKII Toyota Turbo MR2, it's a fast and fun car, so much so that I have a hard time trying to get rid of mine :lol: The best part is that it's cheap to buy and cheap to mod.

 

I agree completely, owning several MR2's over the years. Although, I wouldn't say they're "cheap" to buy - the car has held its value used for several years and doesn't go down, in fact, the 94-95 models are going UP in value.

honestly, most fun car i have ever driven was an old gen 1 CRX. light, quick (for the money, and the size makes it SEEM faster) and for the price, you aren't worried about messing them up much. they are little more than toys though. they take wayyy to much work to be awesome, and not really worth it. but they are fun little toys for just running around in, for the folk that don't make a lot. and that is another bug question: what price range are you looking at? $2000? $20000? $120000? there are different fun cars in all those categories. and different definitions of "fun".

 

Subaru STI, 2G GSX, Evo, Dodge Viper

 

A C6 with HUD makes you feel like you're driving a god damn land jet. Pretty fun if you ask me and certainly fast

 

My 04 Z06 has heads up display. I NEVER look at the dash, and then get into my 4cyl Focus, and feel the difference :lol:

 

I love my Evo but they are $$ to maintain. STI's are good, Supra, 240, GSR or Type R Integra, man there are bunch of cars. Really depends on what you are using it for i.e. weekend driver, dd, project car, ect.....It's really up to you. My dreamlist of cars is going to look way different than yours. Just go with what you want, funnest part of the whole experience is test driving a bunch of cars to find that one you just can't live without.

That car reminds me of the aerial atom. The aerial atom seems like it would be a whole lotta fun! And i have always been a fan of the lotus esprit. wich also looks like alot of fun.

i saw a ton of cars in this post. Among them the 240. i like its counterpart the 280z. i saw a guy with one it was poop brown but had a camaro engine and tranny. he had to put a new rear end on it with wheelie bars. the mazda mx5 is fun for a v8 convo as well as rangers and s10s. but i think the fastest i have ever been was in what i call a lambo killer its called the m400 noble. 0-60 time is that of a damn crotch rocket. its also 130k+ $$. my buddies dad owns one and ive never seen a car kick the crap outta a bike and i mean domonated it. theres a lot you can do with just about any car. but rwd and awd will be the best bet for the strip. but you can make any car a show car.
