Anyone have them? What gains have you seen? What setup are they on?

I had Lunati regrind my stock ones to what they said was a supercharged application that they had. Needless to say that was my whole problem with my engine build and I discovered that when I sent the car to Ross to diagnose and fix the problem. I am now back to the stock cams but they kept the bigger valves (1mm over SS) and the double springs.

So long story short they cams didn't work and created me a lot of headaches.

The reason why there was an issue was because Lunati are using stock cams and regrinding them.

The RPW camshafts are billet items and as such they are not reground and don't have lifter clearance issues, are available in a wide range of grinds for naturally aspirated to turbo/supercharged engines.

If you go fairly large yo need upgraded valve springs but otherwise they are well proven and popular.

I have yet to hear of one person and I repeat not one that has had a successful cam experience. Only people that have installed aftermarket ones to no avail. This is on any of the boards that pertain to the 6G72.

Many including a popular tuner shop in NY have tried the RPW cams and they have not worked properly.

Me neither.

Well I am sending out five more pairs this week and they seem to go out at a steady rate. Odds are that the majority of people using them are just not letting people know about it and the only ones that are saying something are the ones that have had issues. The early problems we had were incorrect fitting which has long since been rectified.

No explanation for it but either way were still selling them faster than I can make them so they are working for some people.

I was just doing some checking and was wondering if putting a set of cams (like HKS for example) Would do anything to help the performance of the 6G72? Now Iknow that HKS doesn't make a set, but I was wondering if they would do any good by adding them? :dunno:

Neal i have a set in my car and they work great i thought i tould you that. i saw 30 whp from them on the top end but lost a little torque on the bottom. I have stage 2 turbo grinds which i need to upgrade my vavle springs. They are a great product and now using a special grind from RPW to make my monster. Relzo also has them in his car i just talked to him this weekend. He did some work for me. GET WELL SOON RELZO

I find NO NEED for cams yet.
Thats because evidently, you dont know what cams can do for helping a FI'd engine.
The power that you are guys are making with 25psi would only take 20PSI(or less) to make if the engine was properly cammed. This isnt theory nor speculation; its proven fact.

Im not sure about the 6G72 but, NA engines in most cases have terrible overlap, and not nearly a large enough profile to allow the engines volumetric efficiency to be as high as it could be. What does this mean; EXAMPLE; You have 25psi at the back of the intake valve but when it opens only a percentage of that actually makes it into the combustion chamber. The higher the Vol. Eff. the more of that air actually goes into the chamber for combustion, therefore you get more power. Its as profound as the difference between a intercooled and non-intercooled FI setup.

Anyways; for what its worth; I have the RPW cam and SPrings on my 4G64 and it works perfectly.

RIPP doesn't make any cams yet. That's why he doesn't need them yet.
