Since spending a little more time over here recently, I figure I'll add my car to the Members Ride section. I hope to be able to contribute as well as learn from the community to further push progress on this platform.

The old powerplant. 6G72 with Automatic Trans.
Image

The fun began April '10. Picked up the 6G75 with only 21k on it.

New timing belt and water pump of course.
Image

Less than a month after getting the 75, out comes the 72.

2 days later, the first non-mivec 6G75 of the platform lives.

On the dyno at Car Craft

The Brembos were recently installed. Unfortunately after the cookout.

And finally, it's current state as of the All-Mitsu Cookout and Car Show

I like. Why you been hiding it all this time?:D

Looks great!!!

Great stuff.

Thanks guys! I don't know if it's really "hiding" that I've been doing. Staying low-key is more my style. I just figured I'd wait until I got to a point where it's worth sharing.

Silvertune is correct, the numbers are untuned. I have the tactrix 2.0 cable, but having the bastard child '99 ECU sucks. It appears to be flashable according to the test write in ECUflash, but I'll probably throw in the '01 ECU I have laying around since the ROM info is accessible.

Oh, Silvertune, whenever you want to do the clutch, I'll be around. I will be in my winter beater SHO since the tranny in the Galant went "Boom!" last week.

The 3 of us will have to meet up and do your clutch sometime.

So again, how difficult is the non MIVEC 6G75 swap? Looks like almost a direct drop in.
Using parts from the 74 and 72 it IS drop in, other than the obvious tune.

#17 ·
With the correct parts from different motors, it's a drop in. You need parts from a 72 and 74 to make it work.

M-Rod, what did you do about your shifter boot? Obviously the 3G boot doesn't work. Is the Integra boot the way to go?

looks great i like it! what did you do with the old engine? i don't remember seeing it up in the for sale?

#20 ·
neb, the old engine is just sitting in the garage. No idea really what to do with it. I've been waiting to find a 3G locally with a snapped t-belt for cheap and throw it in. Haven't come across one all summer so I'm not sure. I've been thinking about posting it on craigslist for $100 so I'm not sitting on it forever.

Info on the motor? :yesway: I'm not too far away.
